I approached SimpleSignal to develop a plan to allow our international phone calls that were currently being received in our Montreal center from members located in Canada and France to be shared between Montreal and a new center in the Dominican Republic. I also asked for price differences between analog and VoIP to see if a cost reduction could occur with this implementation.
SimpleSignal was extremely thorough and worked with our center in the Dominican Republic to test the VoIP connection before they offered it as a solution. Because the VoIP sound quality was clear, they sent the required hardware to the center to finalize the implementation. They also established a phone number to route our existing
numbers to so there was no impact to our members.
In addition, they set-up the technology so when voicemails are left in our mailbox, .wav files are immediately sent to our email application so the support staff can listen to the voicemail messages on their computers. The ability to get these messages sent to an application they regularly work in instead of having to access a voicemail box
to retrieve them was a great efficiency for my team.
My staff was trained on the SimpleSignal admin tool, which allows us to schedule the routing of our phone lines between support centers to manage weather-related issues, holiday coverage, and peak seasons. Removing the need to rely on technical support staff to manage the re-routing of phone numbers is another nice efficiency gain.
