Voice Messaging
Microsoft Exchange Server can receive voicemails. These messages become available through all Exchange clients, including Microsoft Office Outlook, Entourage, Office Outlook Web Access, and Office Outlook Voice Access. Again, employees can access all of their vital business communications from virtually anywhere on the globe.
Rich Desktop and Web Client Integration
Users can play messages with an embedded player, take notes associated with voicemail messages, redirect messages to play on a phone, and perform routine management tasks directly from the applications they use most.
Outlook Voice Access
Users can access their Exchange mailbox from any available mobile device or standard telephone. Through speech-enabled menus, they can listen to both their calendar and e-mail messages (translated from text to speech). They can also listen to voicemail messages and call any contact listed in their outlook.
Calendar Access from a Standard Phone
Utilizing Outlook Voice Access, users can call in and manage their calendars via telephone. They can accept or decline meetings, send notifications to meeting participants (if, for example, they happen to be running late), and even, in the case of an emergency, clear their calendars for the desired period of time.
Speech-Enabled Attendant
The Attendant answers calls using an automated operator with customizable menus (for example, “press 1 for sales”) and global address list directory lookups (for example, “who would you like to contact?”). Callers can interact with the Automated Attendant through touchtone menus and their voice using speech recognition.
Mobile Phone Support
Using Exchange ActivSync, Microsoft’s mobile push e-mail support and voicemail messages appear instantly on mobile devices. If, for example, a user receives an urgent notification, they can immediately play the message on their phone, eliminating the need to place an additional call.
